PARTY AT THE RANCH

Well we had our first Boarder's Party of the season. It was a pretty good success. Lots of people showed up and we had lots to eat. We have such a new group of boarders it was great to see them getting to know each other. Some rides were planned and some people went out on Saturday morning together for a group ride. Hopefully next time it won't be quite so hot!!

OUR NEWEST ADDITION AGAIN!!!!

oK, HE ISN'T TRULY GOING TO STAY.... MAYBE... A friend of mine had a litter of Great Dane Mastiff mixes. Her husband was being a butt and wanted them out ASAP. SOOOOO we took two of them. Lucky for us Mary,, Maggie, Matthew and John (Cinnamon's family) decided they would like one. Little did they know getting a horse also meant getting a giant dog!

The one we have is named Fred. He is 6 weeks old and cute as a button!

Swimming Horses!!!

Ok, Memo got me to take the plunge and use our newly painted pretty pool to swim the horses. For those of you that don't know it, we have a GIANT pool in our backyard that was originally made for equine hydrotherapy. Well I have been a big chicken about swimming the horses. My loving husband pushed me and tada... we did it. Now that we did it, I love watching them do it!

We gradually led them down the ramp that goes into the pool. Most of them were a little hesitant (except Zeeban) but we let them splash and play in there first. After they got comfy, we led them a little farther. A couple of them had a little panick right when they had no footing, but they all seemed to realize quickly they were fine. As a matter of fact, they really seemed to enjoy themselves.

LOTS OF RAIN!!!

Ok, now that we have dried up a little the mosquitos have arrived! UGH! We had a full week of some of the worst thunderstorms I have ever seen here in the valley. There were times the whole house was shaking so badly I thought the windows were going to break!

Well, we all (horses included) fared through it well. The cool part was all the puddes that were left behind. Sunday AM Mom, Memo, Pancho and I went for a ride out in the Goldfield mountains. It was a beautiful 3 hour ride and we had ablast playing in the puddles as you can see!
