Our New Family Member

We had the litter of kittens that we raised and of course we ended up keeping one... ok two of them. We now have new members Viera and Popeye. Here you can see just how Popeye is making himself at home.

A Beautiful Sunset

We were on the porch last night and couldn't stop staring at the beautiful skyline. Just wanted to share it.

Cinnamon's new Family

I am happy to say Cinnamon's new family finally got a chance to ride her yesterday!! Not the best picture, but John was able to get up (without sliding off, he tried to ride her cute little ROUND butt bareback!) and ride her. He got her into a nice little trot and she really seemed to enjoy it. She is really coming around and I think she may be the cleanest horse on the place... she tends to get a bath a night! BUT they want to cut her "bangs" NOOOOOOO!! They are so pretty and long!

Better pictures at a different time!

Meet Miss Jorga

Jorga has been taking lessons with since Christmas time. She is doing fantastic and can touch Zowie's tail while sitting in the saddle. We've been working on her balance and she can now ride all the way around the arena with her eyes closed and both her hands out. This weekend we worked for the first time bareback. Jorga was SUPER!!! She got the hang of Zowie moving under her (it's a totally different feeling) and by the end of the lesson... she was cruising along.

Her friend Angelica was visiting so after the leson Miss Zowie Rose got the pleasure of a scrub down by two very happy little girls. I think they may have gotten wetter than Zowie!

MORE GREAT PICTURES

Here is his first ride! Miss Zowie Rose was her usual good girl.

I can't help it.... I have to post more pictures, he's just too
cute.
Here he was deciding playing in the mud and letting the hose run on him. He was very happily muddy!

Ok, so after the horsehair and the mud, it's bathtime!!! Good thing we have a big sink!

WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!

It was a busy busy weekend at the ranch. Which is always good.. but tiring. We have 5 new boarders. So getting used to their horses and getting them all settled in has been fun. We went up to the P&M arena on Saturday night to watch our one new boarder, Nicole, run in the Kids on Critters gymkhana. She did really well, coming in 1st in 2 classes and 2nd in two others.

The best part of this weekend was our suprise visitor!! Maria and Julian decided to come out and spend the weekend. Maria got a chance to relax and enjoy watching her dad chase after Julian for a bit. Julian is 13 months old and boy can he cruise! Memo finally figured out how to contain him... ON THE TRACTOR! His little eyes were so big from looking around at everything, his little neck had to be tired from looking back and forth. He liked the puffy dogs, but Baloo (who loves kids) was a little too big for him...maybe the next time. Poor Maria didn't get to sleep because he didn't want to stop looking at everything. We had a great time and got to hang out and show Maria the town and the horses. We didn't get a chance to ride, but next time!

Alonso was here too and wishing he didn't have to start school today... but he does. We got all the things he needed... well he says he needed a laptop and an IPOD... so almost anything. We miss him, especially Isack. We can't wait for the next time the family gets to come back out!!

TESSA'S DOING WELL

Ok, not the best picture, but Tessa is healing up really well. Her wound is filling in and she has decided that flyspray is not going ot kill her! I am proud of how well she is doing. She will be back under saddle in no time at all!!

OUR NEW PET IN OUR POOL

Ok, maybe not. But the pool might be big enough for a couple dolphins! Well this last weekend I had to go to San Diego for work and decided to take the family with and go to Sea World.

We had a great time, the work part was...well work. We stayed at a beautiful place called the Paradise Point http://www.paradisepointresort.com/ it was soooo pretty. Right ont he beach and surrounded by tropical plants everywhere. It was right across the bay from Sea World http://www.seaworld.com/ so we were able to see the fireworks from our room the first night.

Anyway, it was also a good week at the ranch. We had 5 new boarders come in. I will tell you more on them later!

Ohhh yea, I can't forget this lovely picture of my husband at Old Town San Diego!!! Quite handsome isn't he... now you all know why I married him!
